‘TORINO AL FUTURO’ BY UNIONE INDUSTRIALI TORINO
Turin to the Future: Business Culture Goes Multimedia at the Museum of the Risorgimento
From April to September 2024, the National Museum of the Italian Risorgimento hosted Turin to the Future, an exhibition by the Turin Industrial Union, presented under the subtitle Business Culture, Innovation Culture. Designed by Punto Rec Studios, and part of the “Turin Capital of Business Culture 2024” program, the exhibition offered a free journey through eight chronological stages, recounting 160 years of entrepreneurial history with films, historical posters, and an immersive finale dedicated to the future of innovation—perfectly aligned with the broader vision of Turin to the Future.
From Italy’s Capital to a Laboratory of Innovation
The narrative begins in 1864, the year the capital moved to Florence, retracing major exhibitions, the postwar economic boom, and the transition from a traditional industrial economy to a contemporary mix of advanced technologies, life sciences, energy, and sustainable mobility. The 106 companies belonging to the Turin Industrial Union—protagonists of the exhibition—showcased the city’s industrial history across sectors such as automobiles, cinema, telecommunications, food, and textiles.
The Value of Immersive Multivision
Set along the monumental corridor of the Camera Italiana, the exhibition was organized into seven sections, each featuring ten-minute films, enriched by 64 historical advertising posters suspended from the vaulted ceiling. The narrative culminated in a final immersive area, evoking the industrial Turin of the future, with digitalization, innovation, and sustainability at its core.
Immersive Technologies by Imagines
The entire technical setup of the exhibition was managed by Imagines, on behalf of the Turin Industrial Union. Preparations in the warehouse preceded a meticulous installation phase, during which the Imagines team set up LED walls, screens, projectors, and ambient lighting to ensure a truly immersive and engaging experience.
Onsite installation required four full days, with a dedicated technical team. Support was guaranteed throughout the exhibition’s duration, ensuring prompt intervention in case of technical or operational needs.
Exhibition Path and Scenic Setup
Inside the Museum’s historic halls, spaces were transformed thanks to Imagines’ video and lighting solutions. LED walls supported the film screenings, directional and architectural lighting enhanced both the posters and the 19th-century ceiling, while projectors created dynamic effects on walls and floors. High-resolution displays enriched the narrative path with images, historical graphics, and corporate videos.
At multiple points, technical staff ensured continuity of the experience—managing video content, lighting flows, and audio design. This created a seamless, innovative, and technologically consistent storytelling environment.
Structural Benefits and Visibility for Imagines
For Imagines, participating in such a prestigious event represented a significant opportunity for visibility as well as a meaningful test of technical and organizational expertise. Working within the historic and monumental setting of the Museum of the Risorgimento demanded careful attention to its artistic and architectural heritage, integrating digital technologies without disrupting its unique character.
This project reaffirmed the Turin Industrial Union’s trust in Imagines, confirming the company’s ability to operate in complex environments with compliance, care, and flawless logistics.
When Technology Meets Business Culture
Turin to the Future was more than an exhibition: it was a multimedia and cultural experience that united history, enterprise, and innovation. Thanks to Imagines’ technical contribution, visitors enjoyed an immersive journey where Turin’s industrial heritage engaged in dialogue with the city’s sustainable future.
A special thanks to the Turin Industrial Union for their collaboration and trust. With Imagines’ support, the exhibition came to life as a powerful, technological, and visually striking narrative—perfectly in tune with Turin’s role as the capital of business culture.
